On March 23, 2018, we reached an amazing milestone. Since the Richmond SPCA became no-kill in 2002, we have been tracking the numbers of lives saved and a beautiful Great Dane named Luna was our 50,000th adoption.
Her guardian, Jennifer, recently wrote us a wonderful letter told from the point-of-view of Luna. It was so cute that we decided to share it on our blog today.
Dear Richmond SPCA family,
Can you believe it has been several months since I found my forever home?! I wanted to give you all an update on how I am doing in my new home with my new family. My family and I are very busy. I attend baseball practices every night during the week and go to games on Saturdays. There is also a dog park at my boy’s baseball field, so I get to go horse around while the boys practice. I have made so many new doggie friends, one of which is another Great Dane named Daisy!
My heart is full my friends! My new family hardly ever leaves me by myself, and if they do have to go somewhere, I get to stay with my grandparents. At their house, I get to play with my best friend, Penny!
I also get a Barkbox and Chewy subscription! I LOVE OUR DELIVERY MAN!!!!
Have I mentioned that I have two wonderful little boys who love me, feed me, sneak me treats and take me everywhere? I love my little boys!
Life is never dull! I just got back from my first road trip with the family to Pennsylvania. I am still not sure how I feel about cows or horses; I saw many on this trip. I do like the specialty dog ice cream and treats I got from Pennsylvania. Yum! Next month I am off to the beach to meet more extended family and play in the water.
I plan to send you many pictures of my adventures with my new family and keep you updated over the years. Plus since my mom volunteers there, you will always get to hear the latest of my news. I will also be coming into to do my first training class on May 13th. Wish me luck!
Your friend always,
Luna
