We had an amazing adoption week including the adoption of our longest resident cat, Henrietta. Henrietta came to the Richmond SPCA in 2013 and suffers from a condition called feline hyperesthesia, also called rolling skin disease, which is a type of seizure disorder that causes rippling skin, erratic behavior and skin sensitivities. Despite being sensitive to touch, Henrietta is a very affectionate cat and thoroughly enjoys being around people. After being fostered by one of our animal care technicians, Henrietta finally found a loving forever home.
Other notable adoptions include Barbosa and our resident tripod dog, Marvin. Thank you to our wonderful adoption counselors who worked hard to match 43 cats and 17 dogs with their new families last week! You can help spread the word about our available pets and lifesaving work by "liking" and sharing our social media posts on Facebook. You can also follow us on Twitter and Instagram.

I am so happy with Jerimiah! He and Checkers, the owner of this home, are settling in with minimal spats. He is such a sweet boy, and I'm so glad he's a part of my home!
