We are happy to report that 57 pets, that's 22 dogs and 35 cats, found permanent, loving homes this past week! Within those numbers are some animals who had been at the center a little longer, like Hulk and Sia, who have been favorites with our staff and volunteers. Our ambitious adoption goal for this coming week is to find homes for 83 pets.
Mark your calendars! From 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, the Richmond SPCA will take part in The Amazing Raise. This is an initiative generously sponsored by the Community Foundation where your $50 tax-deductible donations can turn into more than $20,000 in support for pets in desperate need! This year, gifts to the Richmond SPCA during The Amazing Raise will benefit our Clinic for Compassionate Care. For more on this online fundraising event, check out our blog post!

Late Night @ Lemaire
Join us at Lemaire at the Jefferson Hotel and give to the Amazing Raise during this time to help us win the Prime Time Prize, a grant worth $1,000 by donating between 8 and 10 p.m. The restaurant will have appetizer and drink specials available as well as complimentary valet parking.
Off-site adoption:
On Friday, Sept. 21, our Tail Wag'N will be at James River Cellars for Fridays On the Patio. From 6-9 p.m., enjoy listening to local musicians, eating light food, wine tasting and good cheer. We hope to see you there!
This Saturday, Sept. 22, we will be at the International Food and Culture Festival, held at Stratford University. Our Tail Wag'N will be there from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., so stop by and meet a new furry friend! For more on this event, click here.
On Sunday, Sept. 23, we will be bringing our feline friends to Ten Thousand Villages from 1-4 p.m. Ten Thousand Villages will also be donating a percentage of their proceeds to the Richmond SPCA. For details on this event, click here.
Adoption Special:
Throughout September, we continue our “Two’s Company” adoption special. For the entire month of September, you can adopt any two cats or kittens for a single adoption fee of $95. We hope you take advantage of this special because two is always better than one!
