This week we had 86 amazing adoptions in our adoption center! We're happy to report that 40 dogs and 46 cats found great homes. Our goal for the upcoming week is 215 adoptions. You can help spread the word about our available pets by 'liking' and sharing our social media posts:

Adoption special: Home for the Holidays
Adopt an adult cat during December for half the normal adoption fee! Open your home to any cat aged 6 months or older, and we'll reduce the adoption fee by 50 percent. Visit www.richmondspca.org/cats to see all cats currently available for adoption at the Robins-Starr Humane Center.
Featured feline: Hope
When Hope arrived in our care last June, she was only 5 weeks old. Because she was so young, she was placed in foster care until she was old enough to be spayed and become available for adoption. Half a year later, Hope is 7 months old and still waiting for a family to pick her and take her home forever. She is spunky, playful and friendly. We're not sure why she's still here! Maybe her beautiful black coat has made her fade into the background; black-coated pets do tend to stay in our shelter longer before being adopted. Perhaps it's because she is a "teenager": she's not a kitten, but she isn't a mature adult cat, either. Many people tend to prefer one or the other. We're hoping she'll find a life-long home this holiday season, ending her wait for a family to call her own.
Featured feline follow-up
Last week's featured feline, Brandy, is taking a break from the shelter in a wonderful foster home with Summer, another kitty who has been with us for a while. The two are doing very well together and loving being in a home, even if it is only temporary. They are both still available for adoption, so if you are interested in either one, please contact our adoption department.
Come join us for an evening of fun for the whole family! In conjunction with Waggles' Winter Wonderland party, we're hosting an open house on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at our Robins-Starr Humane Center.
