We were very close to making this past week's adoption goal! When our adoption center closed on Sunday, 79 pets (that's 24 dogs and 55 cats) had gone home with their new, loving families. Our goal for the current week is to find homes for 68 pets.
Our adoption goal is 68 this week for a special reason. By placing 68 pets in loving homes this week, we will reach 3,500 adoptions for the close of our fiscal year, which runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30. This number would set a record for the Robins-Starr Humane Center! We believe every life is precious here at the Richmond SPCA, so let's make a difference in a record-setting number of lives!
A special note from Richmond SPCA Chief Operating Officer Tamsen Kingry to our adoption team:
"This was a wonderful week! Way to go team. I notice that your goal for the week is 68, which is the same number of adoptions we’d need to complete to hit 3,500 adoptions for the fiscal year. That would be a monumental number to reach – the most adoptions performed in our center since we became no kill in 2002. If any team is capable of uniting that number of precious pets with loving new families this week – it’s you! I am so very proud of your hard work and dedication to ensuring that our pets are united with families who will love them and give them good homes!"
You can help us as we work toward our goal this week by sharing the story of your own Richmond SPCA alumni or chosing a pet from our website to share and promote through social networking. All dogs (www.richmondspca.org/dogs) and cats (www.richmondspca.org/cats) avaialble for adoption are now displayed on our website!
