Kittens get Cultsha with the Richmond Ballet

At Richmond Ballet, we’ve been working with the Richmond SPCA for the past year to bring together what seems like an unlikely combination — dance lovers and animal lovers. After the Richmond SPCA generously provided dogs to appear in our production of Giselle, we were excited to collaborate with them again. Last December, several Richmond SPCA dogs made their debut onstage in The Nutcracker and were available for adoption after the performance. It was a great success for the Ballet, the Richmond SPCA, and the adopted animals! Just a few months ago, the Richmond SPCA held their annual Dog Jog and 5K Run. We were so excited to help put together a surprise flash mob with our staff, Richmond SPCA staff and volunteers and even dogs!

Sweetpea and her littermates will be awaiting your visit at the Richmond Ballet table at the Cultsha Xpo this Saturday.

This Saturday, June 23, we are partnering up again with the Richmond SPCA at the Cultsha Xpo, an annual event at the Science Museum of Virginia that aims to connect, share, and strengthen our region’s arts and culture community. This event is free and open to the public, so stop by our Richmond Ballet booth to learn about our upcoming season, purchase discounted performance tickets and pet some adorable kittens from the Richmond SPCA! 

If you would like to attend the Cultsha Xpo, click here to become a Cultural Shareholder. Upon arrival, you will receive an envelope of “cultsha bucks” to spend however you please at the Cultsha Xpo. If you donate your “cultsha bucks” to us, the Richmond SPCA will generously provide you with a special voucher for half off a pet adoption at its Robins-Starr Humane Center.
