When Santa agreed to deliver adopted pets to their new families last year on Christmas Eve, it spread holiday cheer throughout the Richmond SPCA. This year, Santa was eager to make the Christmas wishes of more dogs and cats come true, and our friends at James Limousine Service volunteered a stretch limo and a driver to transport him and his elf, letting his reindeer rest up for the busy night ahead of them.
Santa's first stop was at the home of Emma, 6, and Cole, 3, who welcomed their new dog Kendra.
The second family to get a visit from Santa was Jon Burkett who arranged the surprise for his wife Malorie. She and children Sophia and Austin were waiting outside their home with their dog Timber for the arrival of a special mystery guest. Malory welcomed her new companion with open arms, a Chihuahua Jon has named "Ron Barkandy."
The Steele family welcomed cats Misty and Daria who were eager to explore their new home and get to know the family.
While Owen, Sam and Sophia got to know their new kitties, Santa enjoyed fresh-baked cookies courtesy of their mom Margaret on his way to the morning's final stop.
An enthusiastic young dog named Blazer greeted his new best friend Evan and mom Cindy.
We wish all of our readers a joyful holiday! To see more photos from this morning, visit our Santa Paws set on Flickr.
